October means we’re past any plausible deniability — Fall is certainly here. So, I’m embracing the season the best way I know how: watching Ready-to-Wear Fall 2016 Runway shows!
And I have to say that I am amazed with the new collections! So I wanted to show you the highlights and my personal favorites from Runway shows that are putting out the fashion trends for this season!
Designer Christopher Bailey picked the best of the best from the Elizabethan era with ruffled accordion detailing on shirt collars and miniature bags. But my favorite part of this collection are shearling jackets and oversize sweatshirts that were pleasantly bloated with court-jester-style sleeves that I love.
Stepping on the runway, Kendal Jenner set the tone for Lauren’s Fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection. She was in an oversize weather-worn leather jacket with brutalist-inspired statement jewelry jangling around her neck and at her ear lobes. Entire western-inspired collection was breathtaking. I have to say that this season, Ralph Lauren nailed it. It was my favorite runway show this year!
Remember when fashion was fun? Well, now you do. Tom Ford really amazed with the new ready-to-wear collection. It’s edgy, it’s fresh, it is fun but still classy! Ford did an astonishing job pairing sequined turtlenecks with long, fringey skirts, and cutting dresses in bright sequins for results that felt both more timeless and timely.
I am obsessed with the new Chanel fall collection. Perfect, lady-like, elegant and classy….as always. But the short white lace trapeze dress with a camellia and a black ribbon tied in a bow at the neck is just pure magic. The entire collection is classic Chanel at its most delightful, and yet also speaking to a trend of the moment.
The entire Valentino fall collection was inspired by ballet, and gave a totally new dimension to fashion. Very Avant-garde and different but still quite simple in shape and form. Long, slim coats, all immaculately tailored, were the main attraction on the runway. But the Yellow dress was a piece that stuck in my mind and will not go anywhere anytime soon. In my opinion, once bought, these are clothes to be worn and cherished for a lifetime.
And I saved the best for last! One of the most amazing shows of the season, and most confident and convincing yet for Vuitton, full of pieces easy to love and to wear. New collection was full of zip-front, molded-hip jackets worn with loosely tailored bondage pants, and nipped-waist coats with exaggerated storm flaps. The diversity of the clothes was matched by a wide range of bags. It doesn’t get much more streetwise than the show’s lace-front combat boots.
That’s all for today’s post!
I hope you liked these short reports from some of the most amazing Runway Shows of the season.
See you in my next post!
