I am probably the last person doing the review of Kylie Jenner Lip Kits, but it was not easy getting my hands on these babies. Also I just had to share my thoughts on them since I’ve been wearing it almost everyday from the moment I’ve got them. And maybe you are wondering why a fashion blogger and street style photographer is doing a review on makeup products….well first of all, I believe that makeup and fashion are strongly connected, both amazing forms of art that go perfectly mixed together. In addition I am a self-taught makeup artist and I love being creative and playing with different products and creating different looks. But more about that you will see soon once I start a youtube channel dedicated to makeup!
Please note that shades on the pictures can differ from original due to lighting, camera settings, editing and contrast.
So let’s jump into reviewing the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits!
I’ve got eight shades to try on: Koko K, Candy K, Posie K, Kourt K, Dolce K, Mary Jo K, True Brown K and 22. I will go in depth for each one of the kits. But first, let’s talk about the formula a bit.
My only complain would be that they are drying. But I’ve expected this since I generally have problems with matte liquid lipsticks. My skin is quite dry and my lips especially.
On the other hand, pigmentation is amazing, it goes on quite smoothly, does not crack on me and it stays on in perfect shape until I decide to remove it. I can eat, drink, kiss, for entire day and I do not need to re-apply it and that’s just awesome! The colors are beautiful and the thin consistency gives complete coverage. It dries down matte very quickly while still being flexible but once it dries totally it can be a bit uncomfortable on the lips.
They’re fragranced with a delicious, ambiguous confectionary scent that disappears on dry down, so they’re not going to sit below your nose and bug you all day.
The Kylie Jenner Lip Kits retails for $29 a piece and includes the liquid lipstick and matching liner. Considering you’re going to part with $20 for most liquid lipsticks on the market, this is a great price for a set of two products that perfectly match.
When it comes to liners, the are nice and firm for neatly outlining the lips, yet feels creamy and soft. No dragging or irritation. Once they’ve set (30 seconds or so) they outlast the lipsticks for staying power.
KOKO K is the lightest shade. It is a pale pink shade and my personal favorite. The lasting power is weakest out of all, but I just adore the color.
Next we have CANDY K. It is a warm pinky nude, with perfect pigmentation and maybe the most comfortable to wear out of all and the least drying.
POSIE K is a cool mid-tone berry shade. It’s a gorgeous color, quite unique. Dries down the fastest.
MARY JO K is a true blue red shade. Dries my lips the most and it is very hard to get it off. But it is such a beautiful color, rich in pigment and goes on very evenly. It does not crack nor flake at all.
Next we have the shade called 22. It is vibrant burnt orange color and this one can look so amazing on so many people, but not on me. I like the formula of it, but the shade is not my personal favorite. I just don’t enjoy orange tones on my lips which it unfortunate since 22 does not dry my lips as much as darker shades do.
DOLCE K is a perfect deep beige nude and I am obsessed with this color. It is a perfect fall shade and I’ve been wearing this one a lot. It gives a bit of dryness to my lips. but it is not severe. I believe this is one of those shades that can look amazing on anyone.
Another great fall color: KOURT K. It is a true, deep purple shade and I love the color so much. The only problem I have with this one is that It takes time to remove it. But that’s a small price to pay considering these kits are made to last so long.
And last but not least: TRUE BROWN K. Deep chocolate brown color that makes you stand out. The richest in pigment, does not crack, of course long lasting as all of the other ones but again hard to get it off.
And Here are the swatches of all 8 shades of Kylie Jenner Lip Kits on my hand!
I am not the best swatcher as you can see 🙂
By the way, It takes forever to get it off your hands once they dry down matte. I have to say that it is much easier to remove them from your lips 🙂
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this first makeup review on my blog.
There is more to come, so stay tuned:)
Have a great day dear people!
