If there is one celeb’s closet I’d practically die to have, it’d be Sarah Jessica Parker‘s. For years and years now she is keeping the title of style icon and the most fashionable celebrity. From sporting classic gowns to incorporating edgier pieces, SJP’s looks are always an absolute must-see. While preparing for this post I was struggling to find at least one occasion where she didn’t blow me away with her style. It was all in vain, her style is perfect, she makes no mistakes, and she truly is a fashion icon.
Just like a glass of wine, Parker’s style has only improved with age. Today’s I present you the style evolution of Sarah Jessica Parker:
Let’s start from 2008! At the MTV Movie Awards that year, held at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday in Universal City in California, Sex and the City lead Sarah Jessica Parker showed up in stunning L’Wren Scott dress. She accessorized her shimmering mini with Fred Leighton jewelry and lace-up white Christian Louboutin short boots. She looked amazing in this dress, and her all together look, with those signature loose curls, was breath-taking.
At the 2009 Oscar’s, SJP arrived in unbelievably beautiful princess cut Dior Haute Couture gown, which she described as “barely mint.” She has been on top of the many best-dressed lists for a reason.
During 2010 London Fashion week, SJP’s shows off a chic Burberry coat as she arrives at the Burberry Prorsum presentation at Chelsea College of Art and Design. As usual she looked amazing and once again proved she can do no wrong when it comes to fashion choices 🙂
I nearly stopped breathing when I came across the pictures of Sarah Jessica Parker on the red carpet at the amfAR New York Gala to kick off Fall 2012 Fashion Week. I was shocked to see her wearing a Theyskens’ Theory ‘Jotor’ leather biker jacket over her Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2012 gown. She truly is a fashion queen and this was a bold move!!!
At the Costume Institute Gala for the ‘PUNK: Chaos to Couture’ exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 6, 2013 in New York City, SJP showed up in the most impressive Giles Deacon dress I have ever seen. And it would be rude not to mention Philip Treacy mohawk headdress, because it left everyone speechless.
This was the ultimate entrance, I couldn’t forget it even if I tried. For the 2014 Met Gala, Sarah Jessica Parker arrived in the most perfect Oscar de la Renta gown and ruled the red carpet. Together with Fred Leighton jewelry it was the best look of the night and all eyes were on her.
For the 2015 Met Gala, Sarah Jessica Parker was a show-stopper in Phillip Tracey/H&M. That head-piece will certainly never be forgotten in fashion history. I remember seeing this picture for the first time, and it was something most incredible that any red carpet has ever seen. She is my fashion hero!
And we are here, at my current obsession. At the Met Gala in New York 2016 she looked AMAZING on the red carpet as she wore a Hamilton-inspired outfit. “It was a look inspired by the man responsible for the creation of the United States Mint” she said. In all-white Monse outfit, backless white jacket with ruffled sleeves, bust-baring top and baggy breeches she was a fashion dream. She rounded off her look with a trendy pair of blue stilettos from her very own SJP Collection that I am dying to have 🙂
