From Runway to Red carpet!!!

One of the greatest things about being an A-lister is that you can wear  the latest designer threads right off the runway! Some swipe their styling right from the runway, while others strike out and really make the looks their own. But sometimes their choice is completely wrong!

In today’s post I want to show you some of the 2016 red carpet looks that came directly from runway shows….so let’s get started 😉

runway vs red carpet

Here we can see Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior haute couture at the Oscars red carpet 2016. She wore a modified version of this couture dress, with a lengthened hem, lined bodice, and jagged waist line. And this dress fits her perfectly, she looked full glam and all eyes were on her that night for sure. You have to agree that she wore it better then Dior’s model 🙂

runway vs. celebrity

Portia Doubleday in Naeem Khan looked stunning at the red carpet of 73rd Golden Globe Awards.  This silver-spackled Naeem Khan dress that’s simple in shape, but definitely not shy with its sequins, made quite a statement. Personally, I don’t like this dress, it looks like a huge disco ball, but it made Portia the center of attention for sure.

runway vs. red carpet

Rooney Mara at the Golden Globe Awards 2016 surprised everyone with her appearance. She always looks like some sort of fairy-tale princess of darkness on the red carpet — and this shredded, blush-hued Alexander McQueen dress made her look amazing and elegant. Better then on the runway!!!

runway vs. red carpet

Heidi Klum showed up at the Oscars red carpet in purple princess-like Marchesa! She chose not to wear the choker element of her Marchesa gown. Although I actually prefer the way the runway look was styled, I can not say that it didn’t look good on her, but it is just not what we are used to see on her.

runway vs red carpet

Lily Rabe attends the 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Lela Rose bright yellow dress with floral print. To be honest I like the runway look way better, yellow tone is much softer and looks more elegant. Sorry Lily, this time you lost!

runway vs red carpet

At the Oscars 2016, Julianne Moore showed up on the red carpet in Chanel Couture. This lacy black gown was a modified version of one that Kendall Jenner wore on the Chanel runway, minus the encrusted stripe going down the center and pairing it with a wrist cuff and statement earrings. I like the both versions of this amazing dress, but maybe just a tiny little bit the original design on Kendall looked better 🙂

runway vs. red carpet

Kate Mara at the SAG awards 2016 wore this nude blushed colored Valentino couture with plunging-to-the-navel neckline and sexy side boob display. This dress fits her much better then Valentino’s model and she looked stunning on the red carpet!

That’s it for today’s story. I hope you enjoyed!!!

Leave me down in comments who wore it better in your opinion?

    1. Yes, it is amazing! That’s why is one of the top designers in the world, I love him and his work so much!

  1. I think my favorite dress from here is the Christian Dior that Jennifer Lawrence wore. I love how she modified the dress to have a jagged waist line. It really connects the bodice to the skirt in a way that the runway version didn’t. Always love looking at designer dresses! 🙂 Thanks for sharing

    1. Thank you darling! I agree with you completely….she wore it much better 🙂 And the dress itself looked way more sophisticated on Jennifer!!!
